OPPORTUNITY

MacEwan University is seeking a Program Manager for a full-time 24-month Non-Recurring Term opportunity with the School of Continuing Education. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of continuing professional education programs, managing all stages of delivery, including planning, launch, execution, evaluation, and review. You will provide exceptional customer service to instructors, students, and program participants, ensuring the successful delivery of both in-person and online non-credit courses.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive project management framework while implementing best practices. Overseeing the entire project life cycle, from initiation to completion, including coordinating resources, tracking project deliverables, ensuring key milestones are met, and creating change management, issue management, and communication plans. Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with established objectives;
  • Liaising with and coordinating actions with internal and external stakeholders for projects to ensure roles are clear and actions are executed effectively;
  • Facilitating the development of course content by coordinating with subject matter experts (SMEs), Instructional Designers, and industry stakeholders (as applicable);
  • Supporting the Senior Program Manager in the process to source qualified instructors and subject matter experts, as applicable, with expertise aligned to program goals and audience needs;
  • Managing a master list of program instructors, detailing the courses they are approved to teach and prioritizing them for future course section employment opportunities. Working closely with Program Administrators to issue employment contracts;
  • Providing feedback to instructors based on evaluation results; in the event that performance concerns are brought forward regarding instructors (i.e., performance feedback), the Program Manager will inform and escalate the concern to the SR Program Manager/Program Director;
  • Leading comprehensive program reviews on a scheduled basis; developing and executing action plans based on program reviews to address identified gaps, engage stakeholders to complete program revisions and improve overall program effectiveness;

  • Strong attention to detail, along with excellent organizational, time management, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills;

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of project management tools and software (i.e., MS Project);
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and SharePoint;
  • Experience using project management software (i.e. Microsoft Projects); and
  • Familiarity with database management tools, learning management systems, digital learning tools, and student registration systems, which is considered an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Instructional Design or related field.
  • Training, education, certification, or significant experience in project management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or working toward completion of PMP (in-progress) would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in program management, project management, course development or a similar field that demonstrates the ability to successfully plan and execute deadline-driven projects with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working within a post-secondary or other learning environment would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a corporate L&D environment would be considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
