POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will have supervisory and clinical responsibility for the services and operations of New Journeys FEP (First Episode Psychosis) program under the direction of the North Central Associate Director for Outpatient Services.
Administratively, this position will ensure that the New Journeys FEP (First Episode Psychosis) program meets the administrative and financial expectations of the funding source by maintaining fidelity to the evidence-based treatment model, completes monthly reports and ensures that they are submitted within expected timeliness governed by the funder.
Clinically, this position oversees clinical and administrative staff working within the Coordinated Specialty Care Model and ensures that staff are trained and work to the limit of their credentials and to the full-scope of their job duties. The New Journeys FEP team works collaboratively with the client, and family or other significant persons, to provide state-of-the-art treatment for first episode psychosis. Team members work individually and collaboratively to instill hope in people recovering from a first episode of psychosis, helping them establish and work towards personally meaningful goals, and providing the best treatment available for their illness in order for them to get back their lives.
Span of Control: This position is directly responsible for supervision and clinical implementation of an outpatient services program that operates within the North Central Outpatient Services Program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position normally requires the physical demands of sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking, hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time.

EDUCATION

  • Masters Degree or Doctorate in applicable field.
  • Registered and/or licensed to provide services in Washington State or capable of being registered/licensed in Washington State within 120-days of employment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Preferred experience in supervisory and clinical management
  • Preferred knowledge and experience with evidence based practices

Responsibilities:

TEAM LEAD AND CLINICAL DUTIES

  • Provides information to families and clients regarding the program, screening and intakes
  • Responsible for conducting community outreach and providing presentations on the program as requirement of the model and a condition of the funding source.
  • Provide clinical supervision and structure and maintenance routine for New Journeys FEP team
  • Woks with individuals, families, and groups as a clinician
  • Teaches clients, families and groups about psychosis and its treatment and demystifies counseling
  • Works with clients to reduce relapse by encouraging medication adherence when applicable and monitors early warning signs of relapse
  • Supports the work of the prescriber, the clinician and staff providing supported employment education specialist and other teams and providers within the divisions
  • Responsible for ensuring the program meets the fidelity of the model, that staff are working efficiently by coordinating huddles of daily operations, reviewing reports, daily outreach, and scheduling / response to requests for service and intakes.
  • Coordinate with Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs), hospitals, community providers, natural supports and other community providers as needed, providing strategic and technical guidance to the team.
