Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Undertake research and analysis, reviewing alternatives in relation to program deliverables, to contribute to the policy process and to inform decision making
- Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of discussion papers, briefs and submissions, to contribute to the development and delivery of policy initiatives
- Prepare and review policy advice to ensure alignment with policy directions
- Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committee meetings, and stakeholder consultations to support engagement as well as program development and implementation
- Undertake research and collate information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to contribute to the achievement of program and client outcomes.

The Interagency Team manages key inter-agency agreements and cross-cluster intersections and projects with Education, Health and other agencies, to help the safety, welfare and wellbeing needs of children and young people in statutory out of home care (OOHC). The team leads work in the following areas:
- Out-of-home care Health and Education Pathways programs
- NSW Joint Protocol to reduce the contact of young people in residential care with the criminal justice system
- Cross-agency initiatives to improve mental health supports for children in care
- Participating and supporting a range of interagency forums and committee
Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE

The Program Officer role is critical to supporting evidence-based strategic policy initiatives that improve the health, wellbeing, education and lifelong outcomes of children and young people in out of home care.
