Role purpose
The Program Test Manager will be responsible for providing authoritative and influential advice to the Project Managers, Project team members and other stakeholders on testing governance and reporting, identification of risks and opportunities, change management and issue mitigation strategies. This role will also be responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of the test strategy and approach framework, ensuring quality and assurance standards are upheld to contribute to delivering a high-quality product.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the Program Testing team, providing support, coaching and direction to team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing test strategy and plan for the Program, incorporating Systems Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing outlining the testing scope, objectives, resources, and timelines.
  • Assigning tasks to testers, allocating resources such as tools and environments, and managing the testing team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identifying potential risks related to testing activities and implementing mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Ensuring that testing activities adhere to quality standards and best practices, and that defects are identified and resolved effectively.
  • Facilitating communication between stakeholders, including developers, project managers and technical leads, to provide updates on testing progress, issues, and risks.
  • Tracking and analysing testing metrics to evaluate the quality of the software being tested and to provide insights for improvement.
  • Continuously improving testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of testing.
  • Selecting appropriate testing tools and technologies and overseeing their implementation and integration into the testing process.
  • Providing training and mentoring to testers to enhance their skills and capabilities.

  • Internal: Core Technology & Security Team, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Business Leads & Process Leads, Business Testers, Environment/Release Manager, Program Manager, Integration Lead.

Capability and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in the definition, management and planning of all testing activities within a large, complex Program (multiple functional/technical streams)
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of all phases of testing, including plans, resources, timescales, test deliverables and auditability for large, complex program/project(s)
  • Demonstrated stakeholder relationship management skills, including the ability to initiate relationships and influence key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of required outcomes.
  • Experience in Test Management within large and medium-sized enterprises, with a minimum of 5+ years hands-on software testing experience in an Agile delivery environment
  • Strong leadership experience managing Technical and Non-technical Program Team Members
  • Exposure or previous experience in ERP or Salesforce applications will be highly desirable
