HEALTHY ACTIVE LITTLE ONE COORDINATOR (A FIXED TERM POST UNTIL MARCH 2025)
East Sussex County Council is committed to enabling the best possible start for all babies and young children. Establishing a healthy lifestyle in the early years can play a crucial role in promoting and protecting health throughout childhood and in later life.
We are currently looking to recruit a Healthy Active Little Ones Programme Co-ordinator to join a team who co-ordinate and deliver a programme to support early years settings (Family Hubs, private and maintained nurseries and childminders) to adopt a whole settings approach to supporting children and families health and wellbeing.
This programme is an exciting opportunity to make a difference by supporting early years settings to enhance their practice in all prime areas including healthy eating, physical activity, oral health, emotional wellbeing, accident prevention and speech and language for the children and families that they work with.
It involves meeting with settings and auditing their current practice then supporting them in developing this through regular contact, delivering training, sending out newsletters and creating resources. The settings journey of improvement can then be celebrated through a recognition award scheme.
This role is based in Family Hubs and involves working with a range of partners including the ESCC Public Health team and have access to training to develop your skills.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have a passion for supporting families in having a healthy lifestyle
- Are self-motivated
- Have an ability to meet travel requirements of the post
- Are physically able to carry out all tasks as required
The post holder will have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the promotion of health and wellbeing during children’s early years. The post holder will be required to regularly travel to early years settings across the county.
Existing East Sussex staff could ask for a secondment to this post with approval from their manager.
