Description:

TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS A PROGRAMME LEADER IN SKILLS AND EMPLOYABILITY YOU WILL NEED:

  • A degree or equivalent in a related subject, and a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience of successfully managing changes to SEND curriculum /support design and delivery.
  • Track record of successfully planning and implementing SEND quality improvement to meet the Ofsted High Needs requirements.
  • Significant experience of managing the SEND recruitment process in line with the Code of Practice, retention and achievement rates of SEND students in line with the Colleges duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

The Faculty of Skills and Employability are looking for a passionate individual with a track record of developing and delivering specialist SEND Quality provision, ideally within the Further Education setting. Working alongside the Head of Faculty, you will be maintaining highest quality standards of foundation learning and SEND curriculum and support to ensure learners maximise potential for success and progression. This is an incredible opportunity to join Oldham College, a Centre of National Excellence for SEND, delivering a real impact to students and the wider community, through teaching and managing in our Skills and Employability department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR OUR PROGRAMME LEADER IN SKILLS AND EMPLOYABILITY:

  • Provide effective leadership, and co-ordination of resources and staff for the study programmes in the discrete Faculty of Skills and Employability (foundation learning and SEND).
  • Ensure the day to day operational activity of the foundation learning and SEND programmes.
  • Ensure the curriculum and/or support provision is reviewed, updated as required and in line with the Faculty’s strategic direction, and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years.
  • Maintain highest quality standards of foundation learning and SEND curriculum and support to ensure learners maximise potential for success and progression in line with their Education, Health & Care Plan targets.
