Job Summary
Develop, monitor and manage laboratory testing programmes for the marine geotechnical laboratories in the APAC. Leads and acts as main point of contact for larger and/or complex project(s). Coordinate information flow between project delivery team and/or external client and the laboratory. Oversees and monitors progress against delivery schedule of all projects to help ensure that delivery to budget, to specification and that results are delivered on time.
Pro-actively discuss programme impacts and problems with internal and/or external stakeholders. Manage the financial and contractual elements within laboratory testing packages of projects. Supervise junior personnel in programme management team

About the Role

  • Plans, organises, controls, co-ordinates, leads, motivates, delegates and communicates to achieve optimal balance between cost, time, quality, benefit and risk
  • Be main point of contact for internal/external clients for assigned projects. This mainly involves weekly update meetings, responding to emails and telephone calls and acting as liaison between the client and laboratory teams.
  • Oversees programme budgets, schedules and performance and takes action to mitigate risk and exploit opportunity alongside escalation with the Head of Marine Geotechnical Laboratories and Service Line Manager.
  • Assist the Head of Geotechnical Laboratories and Technical Authority in response to commercial proposals and tender requests. May become point of contact for certain commercial tenders and proposals that require laboratory testing programmes
  • Leads and coordinates project teams and drives a positive safety culture. Creates suitable project governance, communication lines and clarity on project roles and responsibilities to enable team members to deliver their full potential

  • Maintain oversight of all laboratory testing programmes in the APAC marine geotechnical laboratories. Report progress and flag up any clashes to Head of Marine Geotechnical Labs

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or post graduate qualification in Project or Programme Management or in Geotechnical / Civil engineering or similar in relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have proven management experience
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, including the use of Project Management software .
