Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

As an experienced programme manager, candidates would be responsible for the definition and execution of a cohesive and deliberate plan for technology strategy initiatives, contributing to achieving our strategic outcomes. The initiatives will span across areas like technology and architecture, engineering excellence and talent and ways of working. This role is a critical role for the success of the technology strategy and will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership to drive tech strategy initiatives, design new ways of working, and achieve our tech-related outcomes.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

Reporting to the VP Technology Strategy, this person will be a credible programme leader who has the experience and impact to take us through the successful execution of our tech strategy initiatives. In this role, the candidate will:

  • Be a driving organiser: Partner with cross-functional business and technology teams to drive technology strategy initiatives involving multiple teams through all phases of planning, implementation, production readiness, operational implementation and support. You will work with teams to prioritise efforts and identify and manage risks and dependencies of the programme. Your understanding of the domain, business drivers and current issues will be essential in determining an optimal plan and organising the milestones for efficient execution
  • Be an excellent communicator: Provide clear communication to all stakeholders including long term plans, current status, risk management, and the relationship of tech development to product goals. You should have a well-honed ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical people. You can quickly and effectively identify and clarify the relevant critical issues and drive appropriate decisions and actions. Identify short and long term trade-offs and balance the needs of all stakeholders
  • Be a strong collaborator: Anticipate, recognise, and work through change resistance or setbacks independently. Work well with others when conflicts arise: see opportunities, ensure alignment with objectives, find common ground and promote understanding of alternative viewpoints before driving for closure and cooperation. Identify potential process improvements and effective implementation of these changes
  • Be outcome focused: Understand all of the moving pieces across the organisation required for successful programme execution and how they fit together. Manage plans, dependencies and issues with capacity needs, requirements gathering in order to achieve the outcomes and benefits of the programme
  • Be a change leader: you will use project and change management techniques to scope, plan, budget, and resource programmes and projects, to drive the team and stakeholders to successful delivery and embed the change required at scale
