Description:

REQUIREMENTS (CYCC MANAGEMENT - THE LAUNCHPAD):

Comprehensive understanding of Child and Youth Care Centre Norms and Standards andrelevant sections of the Children’s Act, including maintaining and being accountable for
statutory placements.
Understanding the challenges currently facing Child and Youth Care Centres, currentcompliance requirements and the needs of children placed in alternative care facilities.
Ability to lead and guide teams towards effective and quality programme implementation asper organisational strategic plan and set teamwork plans.
Ensure all youth receive developmental programmes which include school enrolments, lifeskills, and sporting and recreational activities.
Ability to supervise and manage daily centre operations of a Child and Youth Care Centre including management of the shift systems, supervision of domestic/admin staff and
ensuring the centre hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained.
Coordinate the monthly procurement process with relevant administrative and procurementstaff.
Advanced computer skills with the ability to write reports, facilitate evidence-based work,use monitoring and evaluation systems, and full use of the MS Office Suite.
Monitor, manage and oversee the use of vehicles and ensure vehicles are available for usewhen required, this includes coordinating vehicle repairs, service, and licensing timeously.
Assists, as required on all maintenance issues and obtains quotes for anything needingreplacement.
Conducts health and safety inspections to identify health hazards, repairs and maintenanceneeds of the centre.
Supervise youth placements and Social Work interventions including therapeuticdevelopment and/or care programmes and liaise with relevant authorities for external
supervision and reporting of incidents.
Build networks with stakeholders to add value to the programmes and operations of thecentre.

REQUIREMENTS (DIC MANAGEMENT - YIZANI):

Manage and oversee operations of the PEI programme at the Drop-in Centre in andto ensure Drop-in Centre basic needs services are implemented as per the norms
and standards (provision of food, school attendance support, assistance with personalhygiene and laundry services).
Manage Social Worker and staff to ensure all life skills programmes, therapeutic support,family preservation services, group work, holiday programmes, school support and
recreational activities are facilitated as per quarterly and annual targets.
Support the staff concerning the programme delivery challenges by troubleshooting,providing solutions and responding to emergencies.
Responsible for creating a safe, nurturing and trusting environment for the children at theDIC through, being non-judgmental, open communication, and showing care and concern.
Responsible for ensuring a high standard of care and protection of children’s rights asstipulated in the Children’s Act, the UN Rights of the Child and other relevant legislation.
Manage the Programme Coordinator, and ensure that orders are placed within theoperations budget for all required groceries, hygiene products, school uniforms, cleaning
materials and stationery.
Ensure the DICs have enough materials and equipment for effective functioning andadequately meet the needs of the children.
Responsible for all the maintenance of the centres to ensure everything is in working orderInvolved in ad-hoc duties such as organising camps, holiday programmes, liaising with thepublic etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

Social Work Degree with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience and current registrationwith the SACSSP for 2024.
High-energy individual with a drive for detail, reliable, and able to work independently in thefield and motivate a team.
Minimum of 3 years of management experience; 5 years’ experience in the NPO sector
Experience working within a residential care facility would be advantageous
Driver’s Licence, compulsory
Experience with disciplinary action; financial management; people management; operationsmanagement.
Personal circumstances must allow the candidate to be on call and assist with matters afternormal working hours and on weekends
Experience with therapeutic interventions and therapeutic processes
Fluency in Afrikaansas well as either Englishor isiXhosa- non-negotiable

Willingness to complete a pre-employment polygraph examination and undergo in-depthreference and psychometric checks
