Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a King’s College London professional services team supporting programmes in the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine and in particular the programmes for the SUSTech – King’s Joint Education Institute (JEI).
The postholder will support and coordinate the end-to-end administration across the programmes, working with the Head of Administration & Quality Management to ensure systems, processes, and procedures are effective, accurate and compliant, in line with the quality requirements of the King’s College London domestic programmes.
The postholder will proactively coordinate student records for programme and assessment operational activity across the annual lifecycle, including adherence to statutory regulation and reporting, where required, in line with College regulation.
The role holder will deliver professional, proactive and flexible operational support, working with academic programme & module leads, other Programme Managers and reporting to the AD Programme Placement & Assessment.
Whilst this role is based in the UK, it is anticipated that this role will require some international travel to China.
This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.
This is a full-time.
Key responsibilities
To work closely with the teams at both SUSTech and King’s College London and the Head of Administration & Quality Management to plan programme cycles and operational timelines, identifying priorities and demonstrate flexibility throughout the cycle, recognising when priorities change, amending plans and adjusting accordingly.
To act as the UK KCL primary point of contact for any programme administration and associated enquiries, specifically in relation to the KCL award for the JEI programmes.
To coordinate programme, placement and assessment information across all JEI programmes in line with agreed processes; working closely with Quality Assurance teams to support programme modifications, as required.
Work collaboratively with faculty (both Professional Services staff and academic programme and module leads), central College and teams based in China to ensure alignment of education delivery and programme requirements of the JEI programmes.
To be able to contribute to and produce reports on service levels and operational performance, proactively identifying areas of risk to either student experience or programme integrity and escalating as necessary.
To support the coordination and monitoring of VLE pages, in particular for the JEI, working with academic colleagues to ensure their programme and module content is accurate and that other student or course information is available.
To ensure all assessment data and student records across the academic cycle, are maintained accurately and are compliant with internal and external quality assurance and reporting requirements.
Able to work flexibly and outside of core hours, as required, to support any time zone differences.
To ensure all work is carried out in a professional and timely manner, with appropriate confidentiality and sensitivity, adhering to GDPR regulations and in line with College/JEI retention schedules.

Desirable criteria

  • Previous HE or managerial experience
  • Working knowledge of Mandarin.
