Programmer/Analyst II- RPG Programmer
Location: Hybrid/Remote
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM
What work will you perform?
Landstar is looking for a B2B RPG Developer. This person will play a pivotal role in crafting innovative solutions for the transportation industry. As a member of this team, you’ll be at the forefront of designing, developing, configuring, deploying, and supporting RPG solutions. We are seeking an individual with a deep understanding of B2B design patterns, architectures, and integration technologies that extend beyond conventional point-to-point integrations.
You also will demonstrate proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting various communication protocols such as SFTP, AS2, and HTTPS. Dive into the world of B2B/EDI terminology and standards (X.12, EDI, XML, JSON) with confidence, utilizing your wealth of experience in RPGLE business process, modeling, and mapping. Your toolkit extends to encompass proficiency with Java, XPath, XSLT, SOAP, REST, SQL, and Linux, ensuring you are well-equipped to tackle the challenges and drive success in this dynamic role.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience with RPG (RPGLE) IBMi development

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors’ degree
  • 1 year of Supply Chain Logistics
  • 1 year of Agile development practices
  • 1 year experience with IBM Sterling Integrator Cluster environments or willing to learn.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Design, build, test, deploy, support and own integrations.
  • Configure, maintain, tune, and monitor integration technology.
  • Assist with transitioning legacy integrations (Gentran to Sterling B2B Integrator/Mulesoft)
  • Experience delivering B2B integrations.
  • Familiar with design patterns, architectures and integration technologies that go beyond point-to-point integrations and allow for more reuse and flexibility.
  • Experience with setup/troubleshooting of communication (i.e. SFTP, AS2, HTTPS - SSL/TLS)
  • Advanced experience with B2B/EDI terminology and data standards (X.12, EDI, XML, JSON)
  • Familiar using Java, XPath, XSLT, SOAP, REST, SQL
  • Experienced with IBMi, CL, Pathfinder, and Robot.
  • Administrative support of Core B2B applications during off hour periods and role swaps.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within a collaborative team environment to design, develop, configure, deploy, and support technology solutions.
  • Partner with product owners, business analysts, and other IT personnel to determine end-user needs.
  • Design, build, own, and support technology products that meet business needs and adhere to department standards of design, quality, security, performance, supportability and maintainability.
  • Assist users by analyzing complex problems and clarifying program objectives.
  • Produce knowledge base documentation for the ongoing support of technology solutions.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems and restore to normal condition. Maintain a 24/7 state of operational readiness.
  • Participate as an active learner of new technologies as introduced into the technical roadmap.
