Description:

The Bonavero Institute of Human Rights is seeking to recruit a full-time Programmes Manager and Research Fellow who will build upon and develop strong links between the Bonavero Institute and practitioners and scholars working in the broad field of human rights in the UK and globally and will develop and maintain the Institute’s programmes.
The postholder will work with the Institute Director to review, expand and/or develop new educational programmes for Oxford students, human rights practitioners and/or the broader public to deepen and enrich understanding of human rights in accordance with the Institute’s strategic vision; establish and maintain links with those engaged in human rights practice beyond the academy, seeking to widen the reach and impact of human rights activities at the Institute; carry out research in some aspect of human rights that should be related to contemporary human rights problems in practice and produce publications of a world-class standard.
Applicants should hold a doctorate in an aspect of human rights law, constitutionalism or the rule of law (or related field) or equivalent record of publications, commensurate with career stage, that demonstrates the capacity to produce excellent research; demonstrated ability of forging and maintaining relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders in human rights, including scholars, practitioners, NGOs and funders, including from the Global South; programme and project management skills, including an ability to foster teamwork, collaborate closely and enable the career development of others and sufficient teaching experience and depth of knowledge to teach and supervise graduate students in one or more fields relevant to human rights law or public law.
The postholder will be a Governing Body Fellow of Mansfield College, Oxford, and will be based at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Mansfield College, Oxford, OX1 3TF.
