ABOUT US:

Corrections Victoria is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria’s corrections system, which incorporates prisons and Community Correctional Services. Beechworth Correctional Centre is a minimum security prison for men located in Beechworth, Victoria and focuses on prisoner re-integration into the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in working in a diverse environment driven by needs and focused outcomes would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work on tasks unsupervised, initiate motivation and innovation.
  • A Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (preferred but not essential).
  • A background in transitional needs for disadvantaged people (preferred but not essential).
  • A qualification or experience in employment or housing would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Programs Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of program services to the prisoners at Beechworth Correctional Centre. The Programs Coordinator will assist in the ongoing development of prison programs in line with legislative requirements, best practice, and prison policy and correctional standards.

SOME OF YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Assisting the Programs Manager in the evaluation and monitoring of prisoner programs according to current correctional procedures, legislative requirements, prison policies and correctional standards.
  • Assisting the Programs Manager in problem-solving by supporting and maintaining support systems, processes, and procedures for staff within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Providing support and supervise a small team of program staff, program professionals and contractors in their daily functioning to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of programs and services.
