Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Project Accountant to join our team. This position can be based out of our Calgary or Edmonton, AB or Burnaby, BC office with opportunities for hybrid work.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Engineering
  • 2 years of experience in project accounting, preferably within a multinational environment.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
    Additional Information
    Relocation is not available for this position.
    Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Support project teams on moderately complex projects, working under general supervision.
  • Prepare various financial reports, analyze data, and provide insights and recommendations based on your findings.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Participate in audits, generate special financial reports, and assist with responding to inquiries.
  • Maintain accounting records in accordance with AECOM’s standards and GAAP.
  • Collaborate with project teams and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to implementing them.
  • May provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members.
