Robert Half is partnered with our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing design firm. Our client finds pride in innovative solutions. Currently, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Project Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and project cost management. Reporting directly to the partners, you will collaborate closely with project managers, accounting staff, and other stakeholders to monitor project financials, analyze variances, and support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with Deltek Ajera or a similar project accounting system.

YOUR KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of experience in project accounting or related role.
Proficiency in Deltek Ajera or similar project accounting software strongly preferred.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Maintain project financial records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Monitor project budgets, expenses, and revenue recognition to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Analyze project costs, variances, and profitability, providing insights to project managers and leadership.
Prepare and review client invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Coordinate with project managers to verify billing details and resolve any discrepancies.
Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding invoices as needed.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to project performance.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses for individual projects and the overall organization.
Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by management.
Ensure compliance with contract terms, regulatory requirements, and internal controls related to project accounting.
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis as needed.
Utilize Deltek Ajera or similar project accounting software to enter, maintain, and reconcile project-related data.
Collaborate with IT and finance teams to identify system enhancements and streamline processes.
