  • Sound knowledge of costing and management accounting practices.
  • Experience in business partnering with non-finance functions.
  • Previous Project Accounting experience.
  • Defence industry experience.
  • Eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • About the role Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Project Accountant is responsible for ensuring project financials are monitored and controlled effectively to deliver optimal financial transparency and accuracy for cost, revenue, margin, and cash. The Project Accountant also partners closely with key project stakeholders to provide sound advice on financial topics, as well as to continuously improve financial awareness and acumen across the project teams. Key deliverables include the preparation of Estimates at Completion (EACs), monthly actuals and forecasting of project financials and insightful analysis of variances.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of project financials.
  • Prepare regular Estimates at Completion (EACs) working closely with project management to ensure Costs to Complete (CTCs) are accurately developed and appropriately time-phased.
  • Produce monthly project financial reports including actuals and performance to date, forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Liaise with project management on performance against budget / forecast, and provide advice on cost control and forecast proposals, including recommendations on FX management, escalations, risk provisions, etc.
  • Establish and maintain key project information and structures within SAP.
  • Prepare and review pricing proposals to customers to ensure appropriate financial parameters and considerations are applied.
  • Assist the development, implementation and tracking against Rohde & Schwarz Australia’s financial plan (budget) and operational objectives.
  • Ensure completeness of project costs and commitments in the ERP and reconcile project related subsidiary ledgers to general ledger.
  • Drive cash collection process including timely invoicing, debtor follow-ups, and project cash receipts.
  • Revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS15 and review of margins.
  • Liaise and provide relevant information for external and customer auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement for the project accounting capability.
