POSITION OVERVIEW

The primary focus of this role is to provide a wide range of administrative services for department managers. To execute this role effectively the assistant should have a high degree of situational awareness and be technically proficient, able to work independently, proactive, flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and a team player. Works effectively in a complex and demanding environment while maintaining a professional attitude and demeanor. Continually requires a high degree of autonomy.

DISTRICT OVERVIEW

Kiewit Southwest District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water projects, we typically self-perform a large portion of the work. We do self-performance work such as mass grading, drainage, PCCP paving, utilities and more. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry with safety, quality, costs and schedule in mind.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • At least one year of experience as administrative assistant
  • At least one year of meeting and event planning experience
  • Be able to lift 15-20 pounds (office supplies, cases of paper)

  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating permits
  • Managing the scheduling and tracking of subcontractors
  • Assist the project team with necessary administrative tasks to keep the team operational.
  • Serve as a back-up to other office administrative staff
  • Perform clerical tasks including data entry, filing, photocopying, scanning, etc.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required or assigned
