Overview:
Project Engineers are responsible for leading engineering teams that design and implement customer automation projects. Project engineers take a comprehensive approach to solving problems, learning the details of each project’s mechanical, electrical, and software systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns and leads the technical aspects of projects with small to medium sized teams
  • Assists Project Manager in identifying changes in project scope and developing change orders
  • Translates functional requirements to system configuration
  • Designs control system network architectures and control strategies
  • Serves as a technical contact for customers
  • Programs controllers and configures automation equipment
  • Selects automation equipment and instrumentation
  • Designs electrical control cabinets and panels with support from CAD technicians
  • Tests the system configuration to verify functions
  • Travels to client site for project meetings and system verification.

Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of control system design and coding
  • Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with people

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional level English (C1, C2, or Native)
  • Engineering Degree (MBO, HBO, MS, or BS)
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer or Engineering Technology or related degree
  • 3+ years of experience in automation
  • As a minimum, you must be proficient on one or more of the following platforms:
  • Inductive Automation Ignition
  • Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix, PlantPAx, or FactoryTalk
  • Emerson DeltaV
  • Schneider Electric Modicon PLCs, EcoStruxure, PowerSCADA, Power Monitoring Expert (PME)
  • National Instruments LabVIEW
  • Siemens S7, PCS7, or WinCC
  • Or similar IT, automation, or MES platform

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ Years in project management, including project financials
  • 2+ Years leading technical projects and engineering teams
