VAMK is seeking a part-time (35% of working hours) Project Assistant for a project focused on supporting the employment of international talents in SMEs in Ostrobothnia. The employment contract will be valid until August 31, 2025.
The goal is to significantly increase the number of international students in Finland. We hope that the majority of these talents will find employment and integrate into Finland, particularly in Ostrobothnia. With this project, we fulfill our promises made at the Wasa Future Festival’s YoungTalk2023 event, where the topic was the employment of international talents, especially in SMEs. The YoungWalkTheTalk project was also created to address the challenge where young people wanted more content and meeting places between newcomers and local youth in Vaasa and the Vaasa region. The objective of the Ready for Talents project is to enhance the readiness of SMEs to recruit international talents and to increase the ability of international talents to recognize the employment opportunities offered by SMEs during their studies.
The project involves developing a testing model for the capabilities and readiness related to attracting, recruiting, and settling international talents, as well as a needs-based training program in collaboration with Vaasa University of Applied Sciences and 10 pilot SMEs. This program will include both international talents and the business network. After the training, the pilot companies will commit to testing their readiness for internships or other recruitment of international talents. To support the Ready for Talents program, a podcast series will be produced primarily by our international students representing various higher education institutions.
As a Project Assistant, you will support the Project Manager in implementing the Ready for Talents project according to the project plan.
The position is part-time (35% of working hours) and temporary until August 31, 2025.

Ideally, you have:

• Experience working with international talents and/or students
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Up-to-date digital skills and a desire to acquire new knowledge and skills
• An independent, proactive, and solution-oriented working style
• Fluent English skills, and proficiency in other languages is an advantage

The terms of employment and salary are determined according to the Collective Agreement for Universities of Applied Sciences. The salary level is 815,10 € - 945, 48€ (depending on the experience level). A six-month probation period applies to the position.
