PROJECT ASSISTANT TO EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

We are looking for a Project Assistant to Executive Chairman at our Headquarters in Pfäffikon SZ.
You will work primarily to assist the Executive Chairman and his office to develop and deliver organizational wide business and technical projects and related tasks within Oerlikon. You will be empowered to collaborate with other senior stakeholders such as Business Leaders and the Executive Committee to bring projects to fruition and ready for implementation under the guidance of the Executive Chairman and the Head of Group Strategy & Business Development.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage projects as well as related work streams for the Board of Directors, the Oerlikon Group and for specific business Divisions; monitoring the progress of projects and following up with other stakeholders to ensure successful completion
  • Closely work with Oerlikon business stakeholders worldwide to help drive the strategy and report progress as well as move the business forward
  • Design and use effective monitoring systems and other project management tools to track performance, identify bottlenecks and report progress to project bodies such as SteCo or project controlling
  • Help ensure quality, budget and on time delivery of project work
  • Serve as liaison between staff, senior executives and the Chairman to support and facilitate key discussions and appropriate information flow
  • Prepare Board and Executive Committee presentations and sparring partner for senior leadership ahead of important meetings

Your Profile

  • Degree in technology, engineering or business and up to 5 years business experience in an international company
  • Exposure to and understanding of project management tools, processes and principles
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, entrepreneurial mindset and enjoys being empowered
  • A hands-on, positive, pragmatic, flexible and results-driven personality with a high level of energy as well as the ability to meet multiple and tight timelines under pressure
  • Ability to motivate and engage people to contribute to team work
  • Exceptional German and English – both verbal and written skills
  • Ability to travel (approx. 10%)
