Your Role

  • As a member of our global Supply Chain Management (SCM) Organisation, you are actively creating competitive advantage for ZEISS by working closely with internal process partners and external organisations.
  • In your role, you will take full ownership of the complete Supply Chain for one of our product lines.
  • Being a talented negotiator, skilled communicator, and excellent coordinator, you shape the Supply Chain for new project introductions and engineering changes.
  • Understanding market trends and opportunities, you are selecting competitive suppliers capable of adding significant value to our organisation, thereby supporting the successful development and launch of innovative products and solutions.
  • Integrated in cross-functional project teams you are a highly valued partner for R&D, Product Management and Operations.
  • Key responsibilities: Understanding, challenging, and shaping the roadmap of the assigned product line regarding buying market relevant aspects.
  • Creating and implementing an integrated project supply chain strategy in alignment with internal partners.
  • Actively participating in project and product line steering committees.
  • Co-ordinating an efficient information flow between external and internal partners.
  • Negotiating procurement conditions and contracts. Dynamic problem analysis, structured solution development and fast decision-making including effective escalation management.
  • Managing the full scope of Supply-Chain-processes including SAP based RFQs and purchase orders, tracking of order confirmations and securing material availability.
  • Owning the Engineering Change Management of assigned product line and projects.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably within a high-tech or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful supplier partnerships.
  • Efficient in managing large amounts of data, excellent in summarising and presenting content in a dynamic organisation.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent Team Player
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to quickly identify and address complex problems.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on delivering results in a dynamic environment.
