• Successfully completed studies in business administration with additional technical qualifications, engineering with additional commercial qualifications or industrial engineering
• Relevant professional experience in strategic purchasing/project purchasing
• Successful collaboration in project teams and sound knowledge of project management
• Very good written and spoken English skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally, about 10% of working time
• Confident handling of the MS Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong negotiation skills and powers of persuasion
• Strong analytical mindset and the ability to understand and analyse complex interrelationships

• Project responsibility for the purchasing department as part of the product development process
• Application and realisation of internal calculations on the basis of development and customer parts lists
• Placing enquiries with existing and new suppliers
• Negotiating material prices for project requirements and the start of series production
• Continuous evaluation and monitoring of material costs during the project
• Identifying procurement risks in the project and initiating countermeasures
• Support with supplier and customer audits (product and process audits)
• Conception and implementation of cost reduction programmes for customer projects in cross-functional teams
• Identification, selection and development of new suppliers in close cooperation with project teams and strategic purchasing
• Procurement of samples and new parts including planning of preventive quality assurance and safeguarding of series start-ups
• Responsibility for the supplier APQP process in the project
• Interface with the department heads to ensure effective communication and collaboration
