Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Project Control Managers are accountable to project managers and managers of the project managers for the following:
1. Lead preparation of Gate Reviews, Execution Plans, Risk Registers, Work Breakdown Structures, Cost Accounts, the Code of Accounts, and other project control tools required by clients, contracts, and internal processes.
2. Lead development of management, project, and control level schedules.
3. Ensure accurate, timely, and transparently reporting of project results to stakeholders, including progress updates, cost reports, invoicing, financial reporting, and risk registers, among other details which collectively predict project outcomes.
4. Establishes and conducts cross-functional project meetings to facilitate coordinated action, communicate critical paths, and effectively prosecute the work scope.
5. Identifies action items and follows-up on schedule and budget updates.
6. Measuring and reporting the quantity of products purchased by clients by the daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines established for reporting.
7. Reporting performance metrics and variances between the quantity of products actually delivered and the quantity of products required to be delivered according to cost and schedule baselines.
8. Pre-emptively identifying risks, decisions, and any other conditions with the potential to degrade delivery of the remaining scope.
9. Integrating assessments of past performance, predicted performance, and risks to simultaneously mitigate harm to the cost and schedule baseline and identify opportunities to improve delivery of the remaining scope to clients.
This role will be Hybrid in the Niagara area. This will require a physical office presence of 3 days per week
JOB DESCRIPTION
Lead, integrate, and control costs, schedules, estimates, and planning across all the functions assigned to a project team to conform with contract documents, customer requirements, industry standards, corporate standards, cost baselines, and schedule baselines.
Directs the preparation and presentation of schedule forecasts, staffing plans, cost forecasts, budget variances, recovery plans and on-project estimates for changes.
Provides both routine and non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling guidance. Suggests, analyzes, and optimizes corrections to planning, cost, and scheduling challenges. Institutionalizes preventions to preclude recurrence.
Responsible for:
- Coordination of planning and coding structures between functions.
- Schedule and budget development, maintenance, monitoring, impact identification, and recovery plan development.
- Develop monthly financial projections by analyzing consultant, employee, and subcontract labor.
- Develop monthly financial projection by analyzing procurement activities and supplier commitments and performance.
- Cost estimating and forensic analysis of trends.
- Funding, commitment, and spending control.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
Required :
- A combination of education and EPC/ CM industrial or infrastructure project experience totaling fifteen (15) years in areas related to project controls disciplines such as management of costs, schedules, risks, and related specialties.
- Five (5) or more years of experience supervising, training, and building teams from a pool of less skilled practitioners in project control disciplines.
- The ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with executives, managers, supervisors, clients, suppliers, contractors, vendors, and any other stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Capability to succinctly present information and analysis to senior management.
- Capability and flexibility to handle multiple tasks in restricted timeframes and expend discretionary effort on short notice to support urgent or emergent project goals.
- Ability to learn and comply with applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes required by contracts.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
- Advanced understanding of Primavera capabilities and scheduling concepts.
- Working knowledge of project control tools and cost management databases.
- Participation in site walkdowns which may consist of walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, walking on elevated platforms, donning and doffing personal protective equipment including fall prevention harnesses.
Preferred :
- A four-year degree or an advanced degree from an accredited or equivalent organization in engineering, construction management, business, or other relevant discipline is preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience acquired in both offices and on industrial construction or operating facilities and familiarity with business development, project management techniques, contract formation and administration, purchasing, engineering, construction, and commissioning.
Desired :
- Current credentials as an AACE International Certified Cost Professional or equivalent credentials or the ability to obtain such certification within 2 years from the date of hire is desired.
- Capability and capacity to travel both domestically and internationally to other business locations.
