REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum 3 years experience in project cost engineering, accounting, or financial analysis
  • Intermediate Excel and Presentation skills
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience preferred
  • Previous experience with subcontractor and supplier relations preferred, esp in regards to contract management and review
  • PowerBi experience is highly desirable
  • Exposure to the resources or construction/mining industries is highly desirable

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Authorization to work lawfully in the Canada without sponsorship from Thiess is required

EDUCATION

  • 4-year University degree preferred, experience in lieu considered
  • A technical degree (engineering, technology, etc.) paired with a business acumen/education (financial, MBA, etc.)

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

Manage the allocation of project costs, production, and forecasts in line with the contract. Develop systems and processes to enable decision making, support new project establishment and the implementation of group reporting systems and tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure appropriate allocation of costs, including cost reallocations as required, liaising with functional teams
  • Manage project input costs including labor and plant
  • Report project operational and financial results in line with group reporting requirements
  • Analyze project performance, enabling effective insights and timely decision making
  • Prepare monthly performance commentary
  • Prepare project financial forecasts and budgets, consolidating inputs across mine planning, HR, procurement, and asset management functions
  • Forecast analysis and commentary
  • Project forecasting utilizing Thiess forecasting tool FPM (Forecast, Performance, Monitor)
  • Prepare, review, and submit progress claims in line with contractual requirements
  • Management of claims and variations in line with contract requirements
  • Review and supply inputs for setting up contracts with key subcontractors and suppliers
  • Manage data and inputs supporting progress claims and variations
  • Implementation and set up of systems for project costs and production reporting
  • Development of project reporting tools, including PowerBi and Microsoft Excel
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
