Description:
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Ontario Division is a provincial association, supporting CMHA branches across Ontario that provide mental health and addictions services in community-based settings. CMHA Ontario is part of a nation-wide organization, which is Canada’s oldest health charity.
JOB SUMMARY
CMHA Ontario continues to assist the Mental Health and Addiction (MHA) Centre of Excellence in the implementation of a MHA Provincial Data Set (MHA-PDS). CMHA Ontario is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the organization in the planning and implementation activities. The position is specially funded full-time, temporary contract starting immediately until March 31, 2025. The Project Coordinator role will report to the Chief Quality and System Performance Officer.
The MHA-PDS is a minimum set of routinely collected, client-level, standardized data elements that support direct service delivery and enable consistent and comparable reporting of service utilization, client outcomes and client characteristics across Ontario’s MHA sector. The focus of CMHA Ontario’s role is robust implementation of the PDS across CMHA branches and the broader community MHA sector in collaboration with other coordinating lead organizations.
SKILL-BASED COMPETENCIES
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project coordination and administrative support.
- Strategic thinking, attention to detail, organization, problem-solving and resource management.
- Understanding of mental health and addiction concepts, maintaining confidentiality and effectively collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with minute taking, summarizing content, and tracking action items.
- Computer proficiency, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as SharePoint.
- Strong, independent work ethic and comfort working within teams.
- Experience applying judgment, initiative, and discretion.
- Experience working with non-governmental organizations and government agencies, and knowledge of the health care environment in Ontario is an asset.
- Experience in the mental health and addiction or broader community and social services sector is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Chief, to engage client management system (CMS) vendors for PDS implementation and health card reader integrations.
- Facilitate distribution of card readers across the sector by liaising with vendors and community agencies.
- Work alongside the Chief to identify resources necessary to support the implementation of card readers.
- Coordinate and take minutes for data champion meetings, communities of practice and other related meetings.
- Track engagement of agencies that are in scope for the PDS implementation.
- Work with community agencies to track and communicate their needs for project management, change management and other resources related to PDS implementation.
