Lakeridge Health Capital Planning and Development Department is seeking a highly motivated Project Coordinator with solid experience in construction management and well-rounded organizational, time management and technical skills to successfully support the planning and execution of our phased hospital Redevelopment Project (RP). You will be a key resource in the Project team in document control, including electronic reporting and project controls.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment both independently and in a team setting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of three (3+) years of related experience in construction project management or coordination.
  • A Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction management, architectural technology, engineering or related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Experience with a hospital redevelopment or similar large construction projects is a definite asset.
  • Work experience in hospitals and health care a definite asset.
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), using MS Teams, MS Project, Bluebeam, Sharepoint
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications, allowing superior support to the project in all areas.
  • Experience of record keeping, estimating, scheduling, cost control and contract management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Competent in time management and work prioritization.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and accountability.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize and present information in a concise manner.

Responsibilities:

This role will report into the Manager, Capital Delivery and will work under the direction of Project Lead (PL).
The Project Coordinator will benefit from having knowledge and experience in hospital redevelopment processes, construction planning and coordination etc. with proven interpersonal skills, ambition, drive, and time management traits that would provide effective skills within your role to support project activities and the teams.

Project Coordinator will:

  • Provide support in the management/organization of project related documents in accordance with the procedures for document control/ filing as per established guidelines.
  • Develop or assist in developing tools, manuals, templates, forms, reports and presentations to support RP activities and processes.
  • Track project issues and inquiries, regularly update and maintain issue tracking log(s).
  • Assist in coordination of project activities to ensure all tasks are completed on time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements and ensure all stakeholders are provided required information in a timely manner as needed.
  • Gather, evaluate and analyze consultant supplied information to inform project plan and related activities.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, solicit agendas and document project task discussions, decisions, and action items.
  • Prepare and issue purchase requisitions for consultants, contractors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate, prepare and submit responses to stakeholder inquiries and RFI’s.
  • Assist in communication flow between project stakeholders.
  • Foster positive relationships with team members, users, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Potential to run small sub-projects independently.
  • Support the project team regarding scheduling, planning, cost management, quality management, safety management, contractual obligations and standards established.
  • Support other project-related activities as needed.
