PROJECT COORDINATOR & FINANCIAL ANALYST

On behalf of our client, Procom is currently seeking a Project Coordinator & Financial Analyst a six (6) month engagement based in Vancouver, British Columbia. This client is pleased to offer a remote work model with the exception of ad-hoc on-site meetings.

Project Coordinator & Financial Analyst Job Details

  • Maintain, design, and create detailed project financials including budget, forecast, and actuals
  • Maintain and track project financial artifacts such as invoices, timesheets, JVs
  • Conduct project financial variance analysis and provide explanations for variances
  • Conduct project financial analysis to support month end and ad hoc reporting
  • Tracks and manages the status of all vendor contracts
  • Facilitates issuing of SOWs, PRs and contract amendments in accordance with procurement policies
  • Develop program and project dashboards
  • Support development of program and project status reports
  • Support development of impact assessments (scope, schedule, cost)
  • As requested by program / project manager, e.g. draft Change Request, maintain Change Request Log, Decision Log, Risk Log, Action Log
  • Able to capture and translate complex problems and situations into clear concise documentation
  • Able to develop process and workflow diagrams.
  • Able to develop PowerPoint presentations and advanced analytic reports.
  • Support development of integrated project schedules with milestones from dependent projects
  • Support development of scenario-based project schedules based on impact assessments
  • Regular status reporting
  • Regular budget tracking and reviews
  • Support Change Request(s) process
  • Support IMITS Governance gating reviews

Project Coordinator & Financial Analyst Mandatory Skills

  • At least 5 years of combined experience as a Program Coordinator, Project Coordinator, or Financial Analyst for large complex projects.
  • At least 5 years of combined experience with projects involving BC’s Health Organizations (e.g., PHSA, VCH, or PHC) or BC Ministry of Health.
  • At least 3 year(s) of combined experience as a Financial Analyst for large complex IT related project(s) involving at least one of BC’s Health Organizations (e.g., PHSA, VCH, or PHC).
  • At least 12 continuous month(s) of experience as a Program Coordinator for a large complex IT related program where more than one of BC’s Health Organizations (e.g., PHSA, VCH, or PHC) were a stakeholder.
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, or CPA).
  • Experience supporting projects with a budget of at least $1M as a Program Coordinator, Project Coordinator, or Financial Analyst.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional active listening skills.
  • Exceptional ability to develop and deliver clear messages for complex topics to a variety of audiences at all levels.
  • Exceptional ability to develop and maintain strong and professional working relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to develop well considered, logical, and justifiable options.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and real-world best practices.
  • Exceptional skills in handling sensitive and challenging situations.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management.
  • Exceptional ability to work across all project areas (e.g., technical and clinical) and identify upstream impacts, downstream impacts, dependencies, and overlapping activities.

Project Coordinator & Financial Analyst Nice-To-Have Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Valid (unexpired) Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certifications
