Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
The UK Reproducibility Network (UKRN - www.ukrn.org) is a national collaboration whose vision is for the UK research system to be outstanding in conducting and promoting rigorous and transparent research. The UKRN Open Research Programme is an exciting, large and high profile collaboration (24 institutional partners) that aims to accelerate the uptake of high quality open research practices. It does this by providing train-the-trainer courses, support for reform of institutional recruitment and promotion procedures, developing and providing insights and indicators, and a sharing platform.
This role is the main administrative and office support for the Open Research Programme. It involves supporting a range of groups, projects and meeting series that ensure the good running and governance of the UKRN. It also involves handling email queries, organising meetings and events, budget administration, and communications activities.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Act as primary point of contact for matters related to the UKRN Open Research Programme (ORP), building lasting working relationships to ensure that all research project reporting needs are appropriately met.
- Support staff in the management of major ORP activities, including: day to day administration; management and delivery of work plans; monitoring of budgets; quality assurance (QA); communication and relationship management, supporting project meetings and coordinating logistics/administration for visiting academics.
- Plan and organise ORP activities (both simple and complex) such as board, group and committee meetings, webinars, workshops and training events.
- Advise on, propose and implement changes in project procedures, plans, priorities and office systems to improve operational efficiency and quality of service in projects.
- Respond independently to queries, to project matters, such as timelines, project resources, project constraints, equipment purchases, and use judgement and initiative to deal with daily unforeseen problem and circumstances, with limited guidance.
