Description:

At Thales, we know technology has the ability to make our world more secure, sustainable, and inclusive – and that it’s all driven by human intelligence.
Because it takes human intelligence to build and power the systems and solutions that people depend on every day. So we stay curious and make space for diverse points of view. We share what we know and we challenge what’s possible.
From manufacturing and engineering to cybersecurity and space, we’re driving progress in some of the world’s most important industries – and working together to build a future we can all trust.

Based either at our Melbourne Office in the World Trade Centre or our Mitcham office on Wurundjeri land, and reporting directly to the Project Manager, your role will encompass:

  • Utilize excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to coordinate project activities, administration, and ad hoc tasks as directed by the PM and engineering staff
  • Demonstrate strong written communication skills for coordinating PMO activities in bids and projects
  • Offer administrative support for multiple projects involving engineering development and lifecycle support

On day one in this role, we’ll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:

  • First project management experience is required, with a preference for experience in engineering or the defence industry
  • Demonstrated aptitude for self-organization, time management, problem-solving, and adaptability is important
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera, is beneficial
  • Strong customer focus and external relationship management skills are valued
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques is preferred
  • A degree in accounting, business, technology, engineering, project management, or another suitable discipline is preferred, OR equivalent relevant working experience
  • Flexibility to travel as needed is required.
