Through Cool Planets subsidiaries, Power House Generation, Cool Planet Group is a registered Demand Side Unit (DSU) enabling industrial sites to earn additional revenue while supporting Ireland’s transition to renewable energy through the provision of flexible demand reduction, behind the meter generation and storage.
Cool Planet’s primary business is not focused on aggregation of customers existing assets’ but on assisting commercial and industrial customers to decarbonise. This encompasses many value streams including energy efficiency, process optimisation, microgrid control and replacement of high carbon intensity assets with new low carbon alternatives.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong excel modelling and analytical skills
BENEFICIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Familiarity in grid services market operations, energy trading, or a related field within the energy sector.
- Third Level education or trade qualified in an appropriate subject
- Business acumen/commercial awareness with a good knowledge of IT systems
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Grid Services Commercial Director, you will receive broad training and experience across a wide spectrum of projects and activities to fully develop your skills. You will be responsible for:
- Project manage and organise varied projects related to Grid Services
- Act as a Grid Services representative on customer calls and support construction project teams to ensure grid services requirements are being met
- Compile analysis and insights into Grid Services opportunities and optimization through collaboration across the group.
- Support the identification, analysis, and strategies to capitalise on opportunities within the energy market
- Support the technical and commercial assessment for the introduction of innovative technologies in renewable energy sources
- Clearly communicate complex topics and findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Maintain an attitude of continuous improvement, seeking to improve current status quo
The role will include the opportunity to expand into emerging technologies and multiple markets including Northern Ireland, Ireland, GB and Europe.
