REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or related field. Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project development, preferably within the renewable energy industry, with a focus on wind farm developments.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading the development and execution of large-scale renewable energy projects from conception to operation.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including project planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Solid technical understanding of wind energy technologies, project finance, and regulatory requirements for wind farm developments.
  • Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office suite, and GIS tools.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate new project opportunities for wind farm developments, including site identification, land acquisition, and feasibility assessments.
  • Develop and implement project development strategies, including permitting, environmental assessments, and community engagement.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient project delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address project challenges and maximize success.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including landowners, government agencies, local communities, and utility partners, to facilitate project development activities.
  • Negotiate land agreements, lease agreements, and power purchase agreements to secure project rights and off-take arrangements.
  • Lead project feasibility studies, including wind resource assessments, energy yield analysis, and financial modeling, to support investment decisions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to transition projects from development to construction phase.
  • Manage relationships with project partners, contractors, and consultants to ensure alignment with project objectives and deliverables.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and risks for project development.
  • Prepare and present project updates, progress reports, and investment proposals to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability within the Project Development team and across the organization.
  • Travel to project sites and attend meetings, conferences, and industry events as required.
