Description:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer certification required.
- 15-20+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on water-related projects such as water supply, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, or water infrastructure.
- Strong technical knowledge of water engineering principles, practices, and technologies, with the ability to provide leadership and guidance to technical teams.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects from initiation to completion, meeting or exceeding project objectives and client expectations.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams, foster collaboration, and build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
- Experience working with government agencies, utilities, or international organizations on water projects is a plus.
- Commitment to safety, quality, sustainability, and ethical conduct in all aspects of project management
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements, in collaboration with key stakeholders and project team members.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and project partners, ensuring open communication and alignment of interests throughout the project lifecycle.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary project team, including engineers, technicians, consultants, and contractors, to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality results.
- Contract Management: Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and administration of project contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, implementing cost-saving measures and risk mitigation strategies as needed to keep projects on track.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality control procedures and standards for project deliverables, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds client expectations and industry standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project success, and develop proactive strategies to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and maintain project momentum.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards, implementing measures to protect the well-being of workers, communities, and ecosystems affected by the project.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, milestones, and key performance indicators to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Lessons Learned and Continuous Improvement: Facilitate lessons learned sessions at key project milestones, capturing insights and best practices to inform future projects and improve organizational processes and capabilities.
