Our Red Chris operation is now recruiting for the position of Capital Projects - Project Engineer with a competitive base salary between $125,800.00 - $160,000.00 dependant on experience, skills, and qualifications, with an additional short term incentive of 15% . The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills and competencies with consideration to internal equity.
We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.
Purpose of the Role
Reporting directly to the Superintendent, Capital Projects, the Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for the Capital Projects department. The Project Engineer will work on projects related to surface infrastructure assets.
About You
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

Accountabilities

  • Promote and participate in a safe work culture in accordance with Newcrest policies and values
  • Construction quality control: ensure construction is per design
  • Create and verify designs utilizing 3D modelling software
  • Support construction team, preparing work scopes, cost estimates, planning, and other tasks as required
  • Provide technical support to other mine departments
  • Provide technical support to the construction team
  • Prepare presentations and reports, participate in update or progress meetings
  • Assist and support consultants and contractors

Qualifications

  • Mechanical, Chemical or Civil Engineering Degree or similar combination of experience/training

Experience - Essential:

  • Project Engineering and/or EPCM experience (5 to 8 years experience)
  • P. Eng. Registration (BCEG registration or eligibility for registration from other juristictions)
  • Proficient with MS Office and managing data sets (MS Excel)
  • Exposure to civil, process or industrial projects

Experience – Desirable:

  • Familiarity with owners team engineering or projects team
  • Project Management Professional (PMP Designation)
  • BC Building Code
  • Software exposure
  • Microsoft Products including Sharepoint
  • 3D modelling software
