Description:
CGC INC. IS ACTIVELY SEEKING A CO-OP ENGINEER TO JOIN OUR DYNAMIC TEAM AT OUR CALGARY PLANT.
This exciting opportunity spans from September 3, 2024, through December 20, 2024,, totaling four months, with a strong possibility of an extension.
This is a salaried position that requires 100% onsite presence, offering an excellent challenge for a motivated individual to showcase their leadership skills and engineering expertise within a prominent manufacturing operation within a large corporation.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must be in a registered engineering degree program.
- Candidate must demonstrate strong analytical skills, understand data collection, statistics and recognize the relationship between various process functions.
- Candidate should possess and be able to utilize advanced problem-solving techniques such as SPC, control charts, Pareto charts, process cycle time, fishbone diagrams, flowcharting and process balancing.
- Candidate must possess strong communication and leadership skills to be able to foster cross functional corrective action activity.
- Self-starter and excellent organizational skills to be able to handle multiple activities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for monitoring day to day process activity and recommend improvements to maximize efficiency and productivity to include waste, speed, delay and raw material usage.
- Manage the coordination, implementation and standardization of manufacturing and warehouse process improvements.
- Responsible for supporting new technology and processes and implementing trial plans.
- Responsible for leading cross functional teams assembled to address process variability.
- Incorporate safety into all aspects of the department and ensure safe working conditions during all activities associated within the manufacturing environment.
