Description:

One of our manufacturing clients in Cambridge, ON region is looking for a Project Engineer for their facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or chemical engineering, along with a P.Eng. designation, is required.
  • Possessing project management certifications would be advantageous.
  • Candidates should have five to ten years of experience in a similar role.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong interpersonal abilities, are essential.
  • This includes the capability to collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to attain objectives and sway others towards a particular course of action.
  • A solid grasp of civil and environmental or mechanical engineering principles, federal and provincial environmental regulations and guidelines, and relevant CSA codes and TSSA amendments concerning landfill gas and propane installations is necessary.
  • A comprehensive understanding of mechanical and process engineering principles, equipment design and operation (including blowers, pumps, and valves), and overall landfill design and operations is also required.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft reports and tender specifications based on engineering designs for mechanical systems and/or construction projects related to landfill gas collection.
  • Design and/or simulate emissions from landfill gas collection, control, and associated systems.
  • Develop expansions for landfill gas systems, including conducting calculations for flow rates, pressure losses, and other design parameters.
  • Produce AutoCAD drawings depicting system designs.
  • Assess, quantify, and report emissions from landfill gas facilities to relevant governmental or regulatory bodies.
  • Furnish clients with engineering designs and reports pertaining to landfill gas systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards or achievement of performance objectives.
  • Oversee construction contracts, which involves reviewing product submissions, monitoring project schedules, assessing progress claims, and issuing progress payment certificates.
  • Create technical proposals and schedules as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert or resource within the organization regarding equipment and materials in relation to relevant codes, engineered designs, and tender specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
