YOUR QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, particularly within manufacturing or a similar industrial environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills; innovative thinking is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Intermediate / Advanced AutoCAD and Inventor skills
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and workplace safety policies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
  • SAP experience preferred

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Capital Engineer to join our plant engineering team. As a Capital Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, installation of new plant and equipment and upgrading existing equipment to ensure smooth operation of our plant.
Your role is critical to our success, as you will work closely with production engineers and plant management to identify opportunities for improving plant efficiency and product quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, design and execute capital projects with safety, cost, quality and schedule objectives in mind.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and work with production engineers and plant management to determine areas that need improvement.
  • Work with production engineers and lead the design of new equipment or improvements to existing equipment, to improve product quality, increase capacity, and reduce costs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, prepare engineering designs, cost and benefit analyses, procure and manage all associated contractors and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and workplace safety policies.
  • Support capital project delivery by ensuring effective communications with the site, vendors, contractors, as well as stakeholders across the business units.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring that projects are completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Make recommendations for cost-saving initiatives and innovative solutions.
