Position: Project Engineer/EIT
Location: North Vancouver
Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience in heavy civil and/or marine construction projects (preferred).
  • Proficiency in cost control, estimating, and planning techniques.
  • Strong computer skills: AutoCAD, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with a valid driver’s license (vehicle access preferred).

Responsibilities:

OFFICE DUTIES:

  • Contribute to winning work for VanPile through assisting the Estimating Team.
  • Participate in developing various estimates, from conceptual proposals to detailed project estimates.
  • Review tender documents, determine scope of work, and perform quantity take-offs.
  • Maintain accurate and organized files of working documents for estimate figures.

FIELD DUTIES:

  • Manage and ensure construction work programs align with project plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Prepare progress reports and assess project risks.
  • Assist in project procurement and logistics, managing contracts, variations, and more.
  • Identify project scope conditions promptly and provide input into design and construction methods.
  • Conduct field management duties as directed by the Project Manager, emphasizing Health, Safety & the Environment.
