POSITION OVERVIEW:

“The Project Engineer, actively sought by our client, is a key team member who collaborates closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to drive project success. This essential role is central to realizing objectives through effective goal setting, meticulous planning, clear communication, thorough organization, strategic implementation, and diligent progress tracking.”

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
  • Candidates with a minimum of three years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Proficiency in Primavera 3 and 6, ranging from moderate to advanced.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic algebra, geometry, and construction-related mathematical principles.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license for occasional travel.
  • Analytical skills to define issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capable of interpreting a wide range of technical instructions and handling complex and straightforward variables.
  • Engage in moderate physical activity, primarily administrative, with some outdoor exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Navigate minor obstacles on construction sites on foot.
  • Adequate manual dexterity for handling items and operating with fingers.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three years of Project Engineer experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on roads, bridges, highways, concrete paving, walls, and storm drainage systems.
  • Willingness to consider Field Engineers with over three years of experience seeking advancement to a Project Engineer role.

Responsibilities:

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and distribute project submissions efficiently.
  • Keep project plans and revisions up-to-date.
  • Develop and oversee project logs.
  • Conduct material estimations.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, including owners and client representatives.
  • Determine costs and issue contracts and purchase orders to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of subcontractor tasks and delivery of materials.
  • Uphold an orderly work environment while juggling multiple projects.
  • Draft reports, official communications, and project documentation.
  • Deliver presentations and communicate effectively with individuals and small groups within the organization.
  • Interpret safety protocols, operational guidelines, and procedural manuals.
