Embark on a transformative journey in the realm of high-performance engineering, where your expertise in developing lightweight mechanical structures will be pivotal in advancing sectors from heavy industry to defence. As a Project Engineer/System Engineer, you will be at the forefront of innovation, steering the evolution of cutting-edge applications that shape the future.
Your role will be integral to the Lightweight Systems team within the Mechanical Engineering Department, where a systematic engineering approach is not just encouraged-it’s expected. Your responsibilities will encompass a spectrum of activities, from crafting and maintaining pivotal documents such as system requirements and functional specifications to engaging in development activities that include material selection and comprehensive trade-off studies.
The essence of this role lies in your ability to plan and schedule effectively, collaborating with Project Management to outline commodity plans, manage issues, and mitigate risks. Your engineering acumen will be tested as you apply theoretical analysis to mechanical structures, predominantly metallic and composite, and oversee development testing and validation activities.
As a central figure in the team, your communication skills will shine through as you build robust relationships with stakeholders and act as a key customer contact. Your technical prowess will be showcased in the creation of technical reports and customer documentation, and your innovative spirit will drive internal R&D projects.
This position is not just a job-it’s a commitment to excellence, requiring a degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials Engineering or a related discipline, with a Master’s degree being highly regarded. Your experience in Systems Engineering, Project Engineering, or Composite Manufacturing Engineering will be the foundation of your success.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of composite materials, manufacturing methods for high-volume projects, and the ability to process and present data effectively. A flexible mindset, the courage to challenge norms, and a willingness to operate beyond one’s comfort zone are essential.
In return, you will be part of a culture that values positive contributions, with a commitment to embedding the company’s values within the team. This role may take you across borders, offering the chance to work internationally for certain periods.
If you are ready to contribute to a team that thrives on challenges and continuous improvement, this role awaits your ambition and skill.
