Lunda Construction Co., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking Project Engineer to join our office in Rosemount, MN with travel to project site in Brandon, SD
EXTRAORDINARY PROJECTS NEED EXCEPTIONAL TALENT
We are seeking motivated Project Engineers to join our team. Project assignment to start will be located in Brandon, SD and includes Bridge and Heavy Civil Construction.
DESCRIPTION:
As a Project Engineer at Lunda Construction, reporting to the VP- Minnesota, you will have the opportunity to:
- Support a field team consisting of Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, etc.
- Build relationships and communicates with field teams including design partners, subcontractors, and project lead
- Understand and assist with project layout
- Identify critical work items and procure long-lead items
- Assist with monthly billings, cash flow projections, and process change orders
- Demonstrate understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within construction field
- Interpret designs and drawings for crafts installing
- Review mock-up and/or shop drawings and specifications
- Understand subcontractor job specifications and scope of work
- Responsible for the review and maintenance of subcontractor non-compliance and coordinates with QA/QC
- Verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications
- Create and process RFI’s
- Understand the schedule in coordination with field crews to execute the work
- Help develop or review design and work plans as required
- Understand company safety program and participates in safety inspections
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate
- Perform quantity takeoffs
- Perform other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering field from an accredited institution
- 2 plus years of experience in Heavy Civil construction preferred
- Experience in Construction Industry, especially in Heavy Civil a plus
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
- Experience or familiarity with Primavera (P6) is a plus
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Demonstrate consistent ability to be dependable, consistent, diligent, and thorough
- Proactive communication & collaboration with internal and external partners
- Solution oriented problem solver
- Excellent verbal and written skills
