MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 20+ years of Project Management experience on >$400M capital projects in an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCm) process or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or proven successful industrial megaproject Project Manager experience
  • Candidate must have an in-depth understanding of capital project development and execution, from project definition through plant start-up
  • Candidate must have outstanding communication and coordination skills and demonstrated team leadership skills
  • Candidate must have proven cultural competency skills to integrate team members and suppliers from multiple cultures
  • Working-level familiarity with industry best project development and execution practices
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to safety and dedication to implementing safe capital facilities
  • Must be able to travel overseas as needed based on project requirements or work overseas on possible delegation
  • Open to relocation to the investment site as project demands ramp up

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 20+ years of Project Management development and execution experience in an EPCm execution strategy including a minimum of one successful industrial megaproject PD experience
  • Experience in construction execution models using large-scale modules fabricated overseas.
  • Fluency in technical English and technical French (speaking, reading and writing)
  • Proven cultural competency skills with project development and execution in France
  • Chemical industry megaproject PD experience including successfully integrating team members and suppliers from multiple cultures
  • Proven top quintile project safety project execution experience
  • Project execution experience implementing new technology project transitioning from pilot to full scale

Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will lead the portions of the execution phase of Eastman’s major capital expansion project in France, which will be executed over the next 3-4 years. The Project Manager is responsible for maximizing project value by safely executing the project on scope, within budget and on schedule, while ensuring that the required operability can be achieved. Interaction with operations, technology, business and other corporate support organizations as well as senior management is a key component of the job requirements. This position reports to the Sequel Project Director responsible for the Circular Economy project in France. This role is part of the company’s transformational Circular Economy and Sustainability program.

Primary job expectations include the following:

  • Manage capital project execution
  • Interface with engineering and construction contractors. Review and ensure Eastman compliance with contractor agreements. Ensure involvement of appropriate personnel in the development and implementation of capital projects from Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations and Maintenance (EPCOM)
  • Promote use of Eastman Capital Process and implement the appropriate WWE&C Capital Processes (Value Improving Practice, Gates and Audits, Front-End Loading, etc).
  • Ensure that best-value practices are used to establish project scope and to manage changes
  • Consider safety, cost and schedule in overall project plan to ensure objectives are met at best overall value
  • Serve on and lead teams associated with work process improvement and project-related issues
