WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are actively looking for experienced Project Engineers who are looking to further develop their skills across all stages of the full construction project lifecycle. This will be for our newest project, the Eurobodalla Regional Hospital, based in the South Coast of NSW.
As a Project Engineer within Multiplex, you will be responsible for the overall technical co-ordination of the construction process (in conjunction with the senior management team), through the co-ordination and documentation of design and program requirements. The role provides a link between design, building services and sub-contracts to ensure project objectives are met.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist Project Management throughout the value management process to maximise the financial benefit of the design
- Manage changes to engineering design whilst being mindful of budgetary requirements
- Assist Contracts Manager/Administrators to prepare sub contract packages
- Maintain awareness of contractual obligations of both the head contract and sub contract
- Act as a conduit for communicating relevant information as appropriate to consultants, authorities, site supervisors, construction workers and sub-contractors
- Monitor and review the performance of direct reports and provide leadership, mentoring and coaching
- Assist the management team to create and implement the Project Management Plan
- Co-ordinate the activities of design management and provide a link between the design and construction to ensure the buildability of a design
- Review design to assess and ensure its compliance with requirements of regulatory authorities
- Undertake programming, planning and forecasting to ensure construction activities take place within overall construction program
- Ensure quality assurance processes and standards for a construction project are adhered to
- Assist project management to develop and implement a site safety plan with particular focus on identifying particular OH&S hazards
Key Skillset Required:
- Proven background in Engineering, Commercial Construction and Delivery process
- Ideally have experience with civil projects
- Ability to see a project through from Cradle to Grave, getting involved in all stages from early design concepts and tender phase, through structure, then turn hand to fit-out, façade, services… Basically through to PC and handover
- Knowledge of Engineering principles and experience in actual documentation delivery
- Ability to read and challenge technical drawings
- Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia
- Knowledge of Design, Estimating and Procurement
- Experience in tender submission process
- Solid analytical & problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
