Description:

Under the direction of the Team Lead, the incumbent will be responsible for providing professional and technical expertise in programs, projects, and initiatives within and outside the department. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners in the execution of regular and time-sensitive Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) sustainment activities for BC Hydro and external clients related to:
o Device security hardening (i.e., security patches, software/firmware, security capabilities)
o Mitigation documentation of security hardening deficiencies
o Vulnerability assessments
o Compliance evidence analysis, validation and storage
o Liaise with CIP and P&C subject matter experts to resolve compliance issues.
o Develop CIP job related documentation.

o Coordinate CIP vendor input on device security hardening

  • Peer review the work of other engineers or technologists to ensure accuracy, achievement of results and adherence to NERC CIP compliance practices.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain cross-functional communications between departments and with customers to ensure all parties involved are informed and up to date on project scope and changes this will include performing activities such as defining the scope of engineering services to be provided, establishing criteria, approving related technical documentation, and assessing and reporting on work progress against standards, objectives, and specifications to support completion of projects.
  • Maintain professional relationships and practice open communication with other departments, consultants, contractors and suppliers. Pro-actively collect and relay relevant information and offer safe engineering solutions to technical issues

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or Diploma in a related field with supporting experience and understanding of NERC CIP standards and requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in Project Management in regulatory compliance within an electric utility, engineering firm, or similar environment
  • Strong project management, goal-setting and leadership skills with the ability to work with senior management and subject matter experts.
  • Demonstrates reliability for meeting critical deadlines, highly results-orientated and able to quickly respond to changes in priorities.

In addition, the following are desired competencies:

  • Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • Able to listen and encourage open dialogue with project team members. Able to receive constructive feedback and present alternate points of view to Managers and stakeholders.
  • Uncompromising dedication to safety and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team and role model high standards of professionalism.
