At STELIA North America, we are offering the opportunity for a career that is out of this world! We are looking for someone to join our Team as a Project Engineer in Lunenburg, NS. An affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, STELIA is an aerospace and defence company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of composite components and assemblies. Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 150,000 sq feet of facilities dedicated to operations, manufacturing and administration.
The Project Engineer provides technical leadership and support to program planning, as well as customer-facing technical support to programs in the early stages of bid, design and development. This role is responsible to conceive and champion technical and equipment improvement initiatives to enhance productivity of existing Manufacturing Programs.

In this role, you will be accountable for:

  • Conducting technical risk analysis (bids/quotes).
  • Detailed WBS and schedule estimate for design / development (bids/quotes).
  • Supporting program stand-up/reactivation schedule development.
  • Interfacing with Development Engineering to support successful program stand-up/reactivation.
  • Driving technical risk identification, weighting and costing in bids.
  • Leading development and validation of WBS and labour/material estimates for new and updated pricing (RC and NRC).
  • Accountable for technical risk identification, analysis and mitigation recommendations.
  • Identifying needs, plan acquisition, installation and start-up of required new processing equipment and capabilities for introduction of new parts and programs.
  • Accountable for development of WBS and labour/material estimates for program re-baselining and remediation.
  • Participating in customer facing calls and negotiations.
  • Responsible for technical planning and task scheduling within the overall Program Schedule.
  • Providing technical support to business segment leader as required, in customer capture discussions and in answering technical clarification questions to bids and quotes.
  • Delivering CI/CA/Transformation initiatives as prioritized by Business Segment Leader and Continuous Improvement Manager.
  • Participation in assigned CI/CA activities and program remediation ‘Tiger Teams’ as program’s technical leader.

You have the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution with the ability to obtain PEng.
  • 2-3 years project management manufacturing experience preferably in aerospace or defense industry.
  • Demonstrated business acumen.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Focus on technical writing.
  • Project Management skills (CAPM Certification an asset).
  • Proficient in M365 including MS Project.
  • Expertise in scheduling/planning, budget and resource management, work breakdown and estimation, progress reporting.
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software.
