QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • P. Eng designation preferred.
  • 3+ years of capital project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of health & safety requirements, and food industry GMPs.
  • Experience in process design for manufacturing.
  • Proven experience and performance in managing major capital project execution and successful management of contractors.
  • Knowledge of construction site practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of contract development and execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills at all levels.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance for manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of health & safety performance for manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Project Engineer at GLBC, you will play a critical role in planning, executing, and completing capital projects. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to develop project scopes, CAD layouts, budgets, and schedules. Your role is essential in ensuring projects adhere to best practices and GLBC guidelines while prioritizing health and safety and maintaining regulatory compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop project scope, CAD layouts, budget, and schedule for proposed capital projects in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage and supervise the execution of assigned capital projects to budget, timeline, and performance targets.
  • Ensure assigned projects are managed under project management best practices and GLBC guidelines and governance.
  • Identify all issues critical to budget, timeline, and performance and ensure proper coordination to address them in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and report on the execution of the assigned projects, taking action to coordinate activities and maintain budgets and timelines.
  • Assure both food safety and health and safety are prioritized in all aspects of project work.
  • Ensure the application of all legislative requirements and the appropriate company policies in all areas of capital project execution and technical service.
  • Assist operations with emerging issues related to operating plants, including resolving process and equipment operational issues, and analysis of opportunities for operational enhancements.
  • Review plant capital for appropriateness of design, feasibility, and compliance with GLBC policy.
  • Undertake other projects as assigned.
