Description:

Bring your enthusiasm and experience to our team of professionals where you will be involved in coordinating the review of Section 16 Order and elevation requests under the Environmental Assessment Act to ensure legislative responsibilities and environmental goals are achieved.

ENVIRONMENTAL KNOWLEDGE

  • You have experience applying the theories, principles and practices of environmental assessment and environmental sciences
  • You can accurately interpret and apply environmental legislation (e.g. Environmental Assessment Act, Environmental Protection Act, Ontario Water Resources Act)
  • You have knowledge of current environmental trends and issues

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • You can present technical information in a clear manner.
  • You know how to prepare a wide range of written documents that are clear and concise.
  • You have experience liaising with a variety of individuals including developers, consultants and the public.

ORGANIZATIONAL AND COMPUTER SKILLS

  • You are highly organized and can plan effectively to ensure complex projects and activities are managed successfully.
  • You can complete priorities within tight timeframes.
  • You know how to use computers and related software such as word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • lead and coordinate the technical review and evaluation of section 16 order and elevation requests under the Environmental Assessment Act
  • identify and resolve issues within tight timelines
  • prepare decision packages and make recommendations for Ministerial decisions
  • support continuous improvement initiatives
