Description:

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will be based in our McKinsey Poznan office as part of our global Client Finance team.
You will act as a finance point of contact for various stakeholders - partners and senior partners, finance managers and directors - and collaborate with colleagues from the local Poznan and other European and non-European offices.
Working in a team supporting different geographies will allow you to learn from colleagues’ expertise and understand the financial context of our clients’ work across multiple regions. This collaboration will oftentimes help you identify opportunities for alignment and therefore make you the driver of change on a global scale.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong verbal and written command of English (C1) is required
  • German proficiency is welcome
  • University degree, preferably in finance/accounting or business administration combined with sound knowledge in finance and accounting
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role and environment, e.g. project accountant/project finance controller, and/or experience in supporting management and leadership by providing insight, analysis and financial results for review
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office programs - Excel
  • Excellent skills in solving problems, making decisions, and resolving conflicts
  • Holistic and excellent analytical thinking
  • Ability to build strong and trustworthy relationships with others and to effectively contribute to a highly collaborative work environment
  • Attention to detail and timeliness in delivering on commitments
  • Strong process focus and drive for results, experience with managing urgent tasks

Responsibilities:

You will have an immediate impact on the firm’s engagement economics, finance processes as well as tools we use on a daily basis.
In this role, you will manage clients’ budgets and ensure the accurate cost allocations in our financial system. You will monitor the time spent on the projects as well as other project-related costs (travel, accommodation, etc.). You will verify whether those expenses stay in line with the clients’ agreements and firm guidelines. If needed, you will address inconsistencies to the partners and senior partners and propose solutions.
You will build long-term relationships with many stakeholders and act as an expert helping consultants think strategically through their budget plans and partner with them on long-term client programs.
