JOB DESCRIPTION
- Maintain a geological model of near mine resources
- Responsibility for the design and management of grade control drilling programmes and liaison with the Resource Development team with regards to the timely execution of these programmes
- Complete grade control and resource estimates within specified time frames
- Ensure data integrity and management is of a high standard and ore control objectives and timeframes are being met
- Manage QAQC processes and protocols. Assist the ore control geologists in completing regular reports
- Participate in site reconciliation processes and reporting
- Provide cover for ore control geologists leave as required
- Assist the technical team in meeting short and medium-term forecast targets
- Identify, implement and manage projects within the mine geology department
- Complete model documentation and maintain an updated record of current and completed site models
- Provide technical assistance in the compilation of geological data for both the company, and statutory reports
- Provide coverage for Senior Geologist
- Share wisdom, knowledge and experience with team to encourage increased performance
- Challenge attitudes and behaviours to promote wider thinking
- Ensure human and industrial relations issues are handled in a timely and effective manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in Open Pit or Underground Geology
- With a valid Professional Driver’s license
- Proficient in 3D software packages (Leapfrog, Deswik etc)
- Possess a strong drive for health and safety management
- Drive for continuous improvement and innovation
