Tennis Australia (TA) is one of the largest rights-holder, sport’s governing body and media production houses in Asia-Pacific and each year we deliver Australia’s premier sports and entertainment event, the Australian Open (AO). We are now looking for 4 x Project Leads – Event Infrastructure to join our team on a fixed term contract basis from September 2024 until March 2025 based from Tennis HQ.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to design overlay concepts and options, determining supply and scope requirements, and managing supplier contracts to deliver infrastructure on site. Additionally, you will ensure that all health and safety, building compliance, and quality standards for the Australian Open are met.
As this is a seasonal contract, we request full availability and flexibility, particularly across the summer months of December-February.

About the role
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Delivery, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of Event Overlay and temporary infrastructure for the AO.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with functional areas to develop overlay requirements, provide infrastructure options for review, and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality expectations
  • Procure temporary infrastructure and services related to the overlay scope
  • Manage suppliers to ensure infrastructure and overlay are installed, operational, maintained, and removed according to predetermined readiness and hand-back dates
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Ensure all health and safety, building compliance, and quality requirements are met

About you

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Previous experience and a strong understanding of major event overlay planning or operations
  • Experience with temporary overlay suppliers, temporary infrastructure builds, and POPE and VBA compliance processes
  • Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and event industry stakeholders
  • Ability to create construction/build timelines using knowledge of temporary overlay build sequencing
  • Ability to write technical scopes for inclusion in procurement packages
  • Ability to interpret design drawings and overlay plans
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
