Description:

AbbVie’s EPIC team is responsible for building and deploying scalable in-house generative AI applications to boost productivity and accelerate scientific innovation. As the Project Manager for the EPIC team, you will be responsible for organizing the work of a small but talented team of developers. Your role will involve prioritizing sprints, assigning tickets, scheduling meetings, monitoring progress, setting deadlines, and ensuring the successful completion of projects. While not rigidly tied to a specific Agile framework, you will follow Agile principles to promote collaboration, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Prioritize and plan sprints, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines
  • Assign Jira tickets and tasks to team members, ensuring workload distribution and resource optimization
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or bottlenecks, and proactively address them
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure project deliverables meet expectations
  • Track and report on project metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders and leadership
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

EXPERIENCES THAT MAKE YOU A STRONG FIT FOR THIS ROLE:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience in project management, business systems analysis, or software development.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and project management principles
  • Proficient in project management in Jira and similar tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
